Discover 29 New Cards from Magic's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Set (Including a Commander-Style Deck!)

Everyone's beloved pizza-loving superheroes are coming to Magic: The Gathering. The popular trading card game's company, the game's creators, announced a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a exclusive panel hosted at New York Comic Con. Could this be a exciting addition or yet another crossover cash grab? We'll let you be the judge.

Check out here at everything revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including key background. All items listed below launches on March 6, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle drops a couple of weeks after on March 27th.

MTG x TMNT: Main Set Reveals

Before we get into the many unique products and bundles on offer, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the set are set at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.

Let's unpack a few shell-shocking details. To begin, there's a new mechanic called Sneak, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu, where players can cheat powerful creatures into the game field whenever an attacking creature isn’t blocked. The big difference here is that Sneak can affect non-creature spells too. The designers also used this chance to refine the mechanic a little (It is treated as playing a spell, unlike Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu is staying, but chances are players will encounter Sneak in upcoming expansions moving forward.

“If we ever go back to the Kamigawa plane, we might use Ninjutsu because that's where it originated and it is iconic to that,” a senior game designer explained. “However in other settings, since the rules are cleaner and the new ability will be in standard, it's more likely we’ll use the updated version.”

That second variant of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai card, is among four cards with unique artwork created specifically for the expansion by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles original artist the co-creator.

Oh, and, should you be surprised by the card text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play game cards that aren't in your main deck, so was I. Yet as per the developers, that's now a legal card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, here are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from the TMNT set:

Following the company’s current policy, all these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard play. The designers say they were careful to make sure the cards and gameplay elements meshed well with current Standard expansions like Edge of Eternities.

“I led the development for over a year and we knew it was going to be in standard and which sets were going to be near it in standard,” a lead designer commented. “Our goal was to ensure that there's synergy with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet archetype focused on artifact cards.

“They combine to provide the pieces for a enjoyable Standard deck,” he says.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

After declining to create any Commander precons for the Spider-Man set and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it includes six different legendary creatures that can serve as your commander depending on how you combine them (five of the cards include a unique Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that allows starting with two of them in the command zone instead of only one). Check them out for yourself:

The Turtle Power precon is priced at $69.99, although that could easily go up based on popularity. Wizards indicated that it contains 43 new cards altogether, which means an additional 37 Turtle-themed cards besides the six legendary commanders pictured above. (Doing some rough math, that also means about 20 reprints if we estimate the deck includes 37 lands.)

How will the Turtles version of the iconic Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and see.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, the company is offering a collection. This one costs $69.99 and contains the listed items:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • 15 Foil land cards
  • 15 Non-foil land cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • 1 Foil promo card
  • 1 Large life tracker
  • One Card-storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it is packaged in a box resembling a pizza box. Every pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and comes with the items below:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • 1 Premium Booster
  • Twenty-five Non-foil pizza-themed lands
  • 5 Foil pizza basic lands
  • 2 Foil Pizza Bundle promo cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • One Large life tracker
  • One storage box

For those curious about the “Pizza Bundle promo card” means, it’s basically a reprint of an older card featuring all-new TMNT artwork. The team revealed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter adding toppings on a pizza slice. In total, there are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards available.

The Pizza Bundle launches a couple of weeks later than the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This unique product is designed for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • 12 Play Boosters (ideal for a group of four to draft)
  • 1 Collector Booster (also known as, the prize for coming in first)
  • Ninety Non-foil land cards (to build your deck)
  • Ten Non-foil double-sided tokens
  • One drafting guide (a one-sheet guide to drafting this expansion)

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to create Magic game products specifically for new players. Here, the cooperative set is a unique product of decks that let you and a friend join forces to face a “Boss” deck that plays automatically.

The general idea is that each Boss card grants unique powers to the creature cards contained in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically plays one other card each turn, and you’ll start off fighting {one Boss|
