The attacker has scored five strikes in 10 Spanish league appearances so far this term.

Los Merengues winger Vinicius Jr has said sorry to supporters for his reaction when substituted in Sunday's heated Clasico clash win.

He was substituted in the second half and expressed his disappointment by heading directly off the pitch.

The Brazilian subsequently came back to the dugout and, after his club's narrow triumph, attempted to approach Barça's opposing player during contentious after the game incidents.

"This day I want to express regret to all the Madridistas for my response when I was substituted in the big match," the player shared on his account.

"Just as I have said in person during the latest practice, I also want to say sorry once more to my teammates, the organization, and the leadership.

"Sometimes emotion takes over me because I constantly desire to win and support my side. My winning mentality originates in the love I feel for this club and everything it stands for."

The player signed for Madrid from Flamengo in 2018 for £38.7m and has scored triple figures in more than 300 games.

But his future in the Madrid is uncertain with speculation in the past few months suggesting that the club would consider permitting the player move on if they obtained a good proposal.

When he was substituted on Sunday, TV coverage from network Dazn captured him stating: "Again me! I'm exiting the club! It's wiser if I depart, I'm leaving."

In his new post on the platform, he said: "I promise to keep battling constantly for the benefit of Real Madrid, as I have done since the first day."
